Founded by brothers Brian and Jason Daniloski, this hardworking, Baltimore, MD-based band has been
constantly releasing material and touring since 1993. After a deluge of releases on 7-inch vinyl and
compilations, MEATJACK found a home with At A Loss Recordings in 1999 and released their first full
length CD Trust . A split CD and 10-inch vinyl record with Prank Records artists Damad followed
in 2000. Also in 2000, infamous filmmaker John Waters used the MEATJACK song "Upstart"
(from Trust ) in his motion picture Cecil B. Demented ; the song appeared on the soundtrack
along with songs by The Locust, Moby, and Liberace (no kidding!!!).
Days of Fire
is MEATJACK’s most fully realized release to date. Listeners encounter the band
melding a well-crafted melodic sensibility with their traditional storm of sonic pummeling. Dense
and multi-layered, the 10 new songs invoke a roller coaster ride of aural energy, ranging from the
all-out riff rock of "Sleep," to the dark and foreboding title track, from the III-era
Zepplinesque acoustic instrumental "Blue," the manic ".45," to the ethereal
monolith that is "Crawl." Renowned artist
Stephen Kasner provides his otherworldly art as the perfect compliment to MEATJACK's music.

"WHO OR WHAT IS A MEATJACK?!" "MEATJACK have the noise side of avant-cruelty honed to
a fine point." "MEATJACK are a mess of hard-charging bass heavy, wall-of-noise mayhem. Pissed, throbbing music with bitter vocals that will make you sit up and take notice. Sick! Totally rad noize!!! Crushing! Sincere
aggression...Mind bending aural assault." "MEATJACK are an aurally assualtive band mixing
anguished vocals, discordant guitars and other elements to create a wall of noise. It's a
cacophonous mix that those with an ear for the calamitous and unusual should find of
interest. Produced skillfully and noisily, their latest (release) is rife with dissonance,
frustration and despair, and went by a little quicker than I expected-and that's always a
good sign. I'll certainly be looking for their next release" "MEATJACK veer between sudden halts, blood-curdling screams, slow grinds and molten white-hot guitar noise. It's all very unsettling. The chaos of the music goes hand in hand
with a strange kind of clarity. The drums and bass savagely cut through
the distorted mix and provide something clear to hook onto. This sort
of music requires commitment in the listener, but it's potentially one
of the most stirring genres around and MEATJACK have shown they can master
its powerful savagery."
"MEATJACK are the finest practitioners of focused chaos operating in the world of heavy music today. Molten white noise careens between pure intensity and a dangerous abandon, creating a presence both strangely soothing and disturbing. Unlike most so-called "heavy" bands, they are not content to simply brutalize the listener with repetitive rhythms and plodding riffs. MEATJACK creates a truly dynamic, wide open yet claustrophobic atmosphere." "This my friends is metal. Beat it to an inch of its life as a child, then expose it to radioactivity. That's MEATJACK. This was easily one of the more cathartic shows I've witnessed in the last year. This is the soundtrack to blind, shaking rage, the bearing of the world's weight, the exultation in all that is lost. Highly recommended for those who wish to reign in hell rather than serve in heaven" "Basically all you have to know is that when you put this in the CD player you need to sit back & accept the fact that you are in for the beating of your life. Heavy and devastating lurch-core with appropriately distorted vocals. Set apart from the pack, MEATJACK are powerful and animosity fueled...like listening to the birth of evil spawn" "MEATJACK is an intense blast of harsh and heavy noisecore. An incredible mix of talent, diversity and sheer force when it comes to brutal music." "I remember hearing about this guy who got buried alive inside a wooden box. When they retrieved his dead corpse there were wooden splinters under his fingernails from trying to claw his way out. MEATJACK's "Trust" could very well have been the soundtrack to the guy's last few hours on (or in this case, in) earth. With songs like "Falling Down" and being on a
label named At A Loss, I see a pattern here. I don't want to be around when the band finally snaps and the frustration, rage and discord captured in their music is released into the world. I can't help but feel "Trust" was the band's last ditch attempt for exoneration before climbing a bell tower and sniping passers-by before turning the gun on themselves." "Esta musica es demencial con mucho brio." "If MEATJACK swings by your town please do yourself a favor and go and check them out. They go the extra mile to make their live show something really spectacular to see." "MEATJACK are a collective cacophony of screamed rage and fast-as-jackrabbit fuck-all fury. This simmerin' (release) pummeled my fuckin' ears into a soggy pulp of
pulsatin' nothingness!" "Discordant and noisy, MEATJACK whacks the listener
with a sledgehammer of sound." "Very lively atmosphere with psychotic guitar adding flavor" "MEATJACK hunched, lurched and stomped through their
material. It was
as if they were the chosen house band of the apocalypse." "Baltimore's apocalyptic noise mongers, MEATJACK
are one
huge, mind blowing experience. If you have never seen a MEATJACK show, then
do so as soon as humanly possible...the most intense sonic mayhem I've ever
witnessed." "The band's tidal wave of sound easily overwhelmed the audience.
The heavy sonic pummeling resulted in aural abuse." "MEATJACK lets loose the soundtrack to a terrifying
nightmare of the most horrifying film of all time - A flick so horrific it has yet to be
made." "A blinding mass of psychotic music...a battering
experience." "Over the
top sound...physically draining themselves into their instruments." "Relentless
assault of explosive drums and otherworldy guitar noise...psychotic angst
avalanche...ferocious." "MEATJACK is one heavy duty experience...psychotic,
nightmarish, aggressive and violent...circuit busting guitar work and blood curdling
vocals...MEATJACK is going to blow your mind." "Oh man, this is one of those
pleasantly unpleasant discs that just makes your skin crawl with its twisted
intensity...detonations of hostile noise...MEATJACK know how to hit all the
right buttons as they furrow for the raw nerve in your brain - and find
it." "Guess who got up on the wrong side of the bed!! Two
chunks of anger and no chaser. Intense. The next time somebody breaks into your car, your
boss fucks with you, or life just kicks you in the teeth, you might understand." "Noisy...way heavy and way aggressive. They will blow
roofs off of the disturbed." "MEATJACK hammers the senses with their sonic
fury." "Emotionally charged noisecore...Their soul bearing
rawness must be experienced live! This is more real than music!" "MEATJACK is a twisted noise act...loud, chaotic and
quite appealing...MEATJACK rants and raves and makes mincemeat out of their
instruments...tumultuous...MEATJACK sounds like a glorious train wreck...you can imagine
them burning and slashing away until nothing is left standing" "Good luck dodging the shards of guitar and vocal
shotgun blasts delivered by MEATJACK, as your footing will be compromised by the ground
tremors generated by the band's rhythm section. MEATJACK will have you hiding under the
bed."
