Museum of Rock (Amarillo, TX) interview #2 - January 2004

What got you started in music and what got the band together?

Jason: Kiss in the late seventies made me want to become a rock star. Metallica in the mid-eighties made me want to learn how to play. I'm still working on both of those.

Brian: I've always had a deep love of music ever since I could remember. It called to me. In the late 80's I wanted to start a band and recruited my brother Jason. We've been working together ever since.

How did you come up with the band name?

Brian: Our first drummer came up with it off the top of his head. Just sticking a couple of words together that sounded neat.

How do you come up with your song ideas musically and lyrically?

Jason: Musically someone usually comes into rehearsal with a riff and we hash it out. Lyrically I like to use larger than life rock imagery, words like smoke, water, fire, sky.

Brian: Musically, what J said. Lyrically, just random ideas that pop into my head whenever and wherever.

What are your tour plans?

Brian: We're hitting the road in April for another U.S. tour. This one will take us out to the west coast and back. Look for us in Amarillo on or around April 18.

Do you plan on putting aout a DVD?

Jason: Yes. When someone wants to give us some money.

Brian: Eventually someday. We're hopefully going to be shooting an upcoming show, and a video for a song from the "Days of Fire" album for a possible DVD.

What about the future of the band?

Jason: More records, more tours, more whiskey.
